The Pop My Mind Spring Exhibition 2018 celebrates our ongoing creative partnership with Ipswich-based dance company DanceEast.
Bringing together a beautiful array of fine art, photography, 3D art and illustration from across the UK and Europe under one roof, our Spring Exhibition showcases the talents of our community and takes the online inspiration of Pop My Mind out into the physical world.
All of the pieces exhibited were made in response to three themes taken from recent DanceEast performaces – Union from their performance The Knot, New Beginnings from Daughter, Daughter – Before I Met You, and Beautiful from their performance by the same name.
The artists on our website transformed these sparks of inspiration into a vast array of uplifting and expressive pieces, of which 12 were chosen by PMM painter and curator Sarah Mallett.
This exhibition is the first for some artists using Pop My Mind, including Freya Zinny who created the piece Partnership (below). For others, such as illustrator Sam Spicer, are frequently involved in Pop My Mind exhibitions – in fact, Sam has been exhibited many times since our First Birthday party in summer 2016.
The month long exhibition was launched on the 20th April at the Whistler Gallery, DanceEast for visitors and the public to enjoy.
The exhibition is still up for one weekend only – and will be taken down on Tuesday 22nd May. Make sure you head over there to glimpse these beautiful artworks in the flesh before it comes down!
