Put on your own creative workshop at Mekonville! June 6, 2017

Hey you! You’re creative aren’t you? Great.

Are a member of Pop My Mind yet? If not and would like to join up, you can do it right now. It’s super easy. If you want to know how it all works and how to make the most out of what we have to offer, everything you need to know is right here and here. You can also make some money from submitting your work to the platform. All the information you need about that is here.

You, the community of Pop My Mind have been offered an exciting opportunity to be an active part of Mekonville!  From the 28th to the 30th of July, Petta Fiesta is having their annual festival in rural Suffolk, (you can find out exactly where right here). Only this time, it is a celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Mekons, ‘one of the longest-running and most prolific of the first-wave British punk rock bands.’ Essentially, it’s a big deal.

Some of the other acts you’ll be seeing there include Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Esper Scout, Calva Louise and loads more!

What this festival needs from you is for the ticket holders to be able to experience your art in a firsthand way. You will be able to put on your own art happening or interactive workshop to show people what it’s really like to produce your kind of art. For example, you could organise a slam poetry reading or perhaps begin a huge collaborative art piece that everyone can contribute to and enjoy. It doesn’t matter if your chosen art medium is music, painting, sculpting or writing. It can really be anything; we just want you to share it. One of the best ways to really understand someone’s art is to experience it personally and this festival will allow you to share yours with everyone. The materials for your workshop will be paid for and you can even have a free ticket to the festival. You could have some new artistic experiences yourself.

If you’re tempted to be part of this awesome little festival (and I know you are), you can email Karis at for more information. And you just want come along to the festival as a visitor, you can get your hands on a ticket here.
