Emily Godden is a fine artist studying an MA at The Cambridge School of Art, specialising in printmaking, and has been a member of Pop My Mind since August 2015. She is also a winner of Pop My Mind’s Invention Award for her piece titled Medis Informacija.
In her interview with Curator Laurel Berry, Emily describes the intricate process required to create something as unique as Medis Informacija. She goes through it step by step, starting with the metal plate and the acid, describing it as a ‘tenuous process’. It is the lack of artificiality or digital intervention that makes Emily’s work so individual. You can see the whole interview below and hear her process in full.
Medis Informacia was inspired by Pop My Mind’s challenge to create something using the theme of wood. Since it was submitted in December 2015, it has been inspired eight different artistic interpretations.
